List of Recent Earthquakes and
Other Indicators of Trouble on Planet Earth
A list of recent earthquakes, the current record droughts, reports of giant hail and climate-changing warm arctic air. And more talk of a new global currency. There is change in the air and in many areas of society.
I have updated the list of significant earthquakes to the end of 2011 and added an interesting graph showing a definite trend to an increase in earthquake frequency and intensity. You might think of making some preparation - both physically and spiritually.
Note that I am simply sharing items of interest. That does not imply that I agree with everything presented.
"And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars ... nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes ..." (Matt 24:6-7)

List of Recent Earthquakes
I have updated my page on earthquakes to include events to the end of 2011. I also made a summary graph of the frequency of earthquakes by range of magnitudes per year:
There is a pretty obvious trend here. Get ready for more shaking in this new year.
Arctic Hot Air
For the last two years, for reasons climatologists do not yet understand, a strange pocket of warm air has lingered over the Arctic, Douglas said, making the dead of winter a full 10 to 20 degrees warmer than normal in Greenland and northern Canada. The bubble has displaced cold air southward.
"If you leave the refrigerator door open, you warm up the refrigerator, and all that cool air kind of spills on to the floor," Douglas said. "That's what's happened."
On top of all that, a general rise in global temperatures has boosted levels of water vapor in the atmosphere by four percent, Douglas said. That basically loads the dice for more storms to form.
Hailstones - Droplets of the last plagues are showing up.
"From the sky huge hailstones, each weighing about a hundred pounds, fell on people, and they cursed God on account of the plague of hail because the plague was so terrible." (Rev 16:21)
These have been called hydro-meteors or ice-falls, but more lately aptly named Megacryometeors.
"A megacryometeor is a very large chunk of ice which, despite sharing many textural, hydro-chemical and isotopic features detected in large hailstones, is formed under unusual atmospheric conditions which clearly differ from those of the cumulonimbus cloud scenario (i.e. clear-sky conditions) ... ice chunks weighing up to 6.6 pounds (3.0 kg) rained on Spain out of cloudless skies for ten days. More than 50 megacryometeors have been recorded since the year 2000. They vary in mass between 0.5 kilograms (1.1 lb) to several tens of kilograms. One in Brazil weighed in at more than 50 kilograms (110 lb)." (Wikipedia)
These hailstones can occur on perfectly clear days and can weigh 100 Kilograms. Are they warnings from heaven?

2011 was the driest year on record in Texas
By Marice Richter | Reuters
FORT WORTH, Texas (Reuters) - It's official: 2011 was the driest year on record in Texas, according to the National Weather Service. It was also the second-hottest ever.
That won't surprise Texans who lived through a year in which wildfires roared through the Lone Star State, cattle went thirsty and many Fourth of July fireworks shows were canceled.
The weather service said the average rainfall in Texas in 2011 was 14.89 inches. The previous record of 14.99 inches of average rainfall was set in 1917.
The average temperature in 2011 was 67.2 degrees. The warmest year on record was 1921, when the average temperature was 67.5 degrees, the weather service said.
The prolonged Texas drought is to blame for devastating agriculture and livestock losses, estimated in the billions of dollars.
The historic drought has killed as many as half a billion trees, not including those that died in wildfires that scorched some 4 million acres in 2011, the Texas Forest Service has reported.
Global Currency
"Step back from the current crisis to consider the long view, and currency unions - or even a single global currency - have a fair share of appeal. A universal medium of exchange could eliminate currency risk and jack up trade. It would mean speculators couldn't short an individual country's currency. Exporters wouldn't have to fret over the gap between a price on a contract and the value of the payment. A single currency could halt spastic swings in prices and end conversion fees, leaving more of the pie for little stuff like R and D and employee health insurance. Oh - and it could put an end to international disputes over currency manipulation."
Ray's note: however it could also be a step in setting the stage for enforcement of the mark of the beast:
"And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." (Rev 13:17)
