My Questions About the Millennium
by Cindy
The question I have is will people be procreating during the millennium? Will there be more babies born during this time? And what is the reason (point) of having people live on earth during the millennium? Won't all the wicked be destroyed at the time of Christ's second coming, by the brightness of His light, and the lightening, hailstorms, etc. coming down from the sky? I am rather new to the idea that hell is an event and that people are destroyed, completely (annihilation), so I'm trying to figure it all out :). Thanks for all your help with my questions. "For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven." (Matt 22:30, also Mark 12:25)So it appears that no, there will not be procreation and no babies will be born during the millennium. The answer to your question about people living on the earth during the millennium is that they won't be even though many do belief they will. By the end of the plagues the earth will not even be habitable by humans as the plagues effectively reverse the creation process. Jeremiah describes it: "I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light." (Jer 4:23)This shows a return of the earth to the condition it was in before creation week: "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters." (Gen 1:1-2)There was a time ("in the beginning") after the initial creation of the universe and before creation week when God made this earth into a paradise. It was during this time that Lucifer fell and became Satan and initiated the war in heaven. (Rev 12:7) Then you asked about the destruction of the wicked at the Second Coming. Yes, the wicked are destroyed at Christ's coming - that is plain in scripture: "And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:" (2 Thess 2:8)"Hell" is the term scripture uses for the grave - study it out. The Hebrew word "sheol" is translated "grave" as often as it is translated "hell." Jacob spoke of himself going there: "And all his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him; but he refused to be comforted; and he said, For I will go down into the grave unto my son mourning. Thus his father wept for him." (Gen 37:35)Don't confuse hell, the place of the dead (typically in a grave) as they await the resurrection with the Lake of Fire which is an event at which the lost are finally annihilated in the second death. Although you are new to some of these ideas, keep studying and it will become more clear. Especially, be aware of what the Bible says about the character of God. If you get that right, many other things will become clear.

The Greek has multiple words for forgiveness? God forgives (charizomai) whether we ask or not. Receiving forgiveness (apheimi) is by our choice.
God always forgives!
